Art installation in collaboration with Barcelona-based DJ’s Chica Acosta and RD Sosa.

The sound installation took place during the creative studio Proxima’s launching event in Ssuave project space in Barcelona, Spain.

Within this collaboration, Andrea Palacios created an art installation that represents the soundscape of migration as a metaphorical landing, either sudden and forceful or carefully planned.

The installation, together with Chica Acosta and RD Sosa’s audio perfomance, captures the immigrant experience: abrupt displacement, navigating the unfamiliar, and transforming a foreign space into a home. An open parachute symbolizes forced or unexpected landings, emphasizing the starkness of arrival and the emotional and physical transitions of migration.

This performance combines an in-depth audio exploration of the immigrant journey with the evocative rhythms of Venezuelan drums.
